We thank God that this far he has been faithful to Mkono Poa. Despite the hard times facing our Kenyan economy Mkono Poa has remained steadfast in delivering on its promises. The deal on titles for our pioneer projects is progressing well and nearing completion as assured by our advocates. Probably by the end of this week, we might hear some good news. However, the delay on titles should not be a hindrance to investment as opportunities will not wait for us to complete on titles. The entire leadership of Mkono Poa is committed to our guiding values and principles. Teamwork, Risk management, Integrity, Time management, Innovation, and Non-discrimination. However, my plea is for every member who has bought land with Mkono Poa to obtain and keep safe primary ownership documents. These include but not limited to payment receipts, plot ownership share certificate, membership number, shareholder certificate plus any official communication. Today even a title could be a mere paper. I recently witnessed this in Embakasi ranch where a single plot had three original Titles. Those who kept safe primary ownership documents had an easy task.
Social Economic Business Model
Mkono Poa operates on a social-economic business model where every activity is performed in a joint manner. That is why we have been able to acquire huge tracts of land with our meager seed capital. When acquiring new land, for example, we inform the existing members and seek their support to raise the down-payment. To this effect, we offer a special package where a plot is offered at Rock bottom prices far below the cost price. This is the reason why when members failed to pay for titles we had the challenge of mobilizing funds for this purpose. Thank God that we’ve succeeded in this.
